Milk-flowered early peony. A herbaceous perennial plant. An interspecific hybrid. Mid-early. A beautiful peony that wins hearts! Bred in 1981. Originator: David Reath. Derived from the cross 'Salmon Dream' x Reath No. F-3 ('Cream Delight' x 'Moonrise'). It really lives up to its name thanks to its delicate light yellow colour. Valued for its long-lasting blooms and beautiful flower form as well as its mild fragrance. It blooms early, just like other hybrid yellow flowers. It's also at the top of the list of exclusive and most expensive flowers to cut. Blossom time: late spring/early summer.
Appearance
This peony attracts attention due to its huge, table-sized flowers. They are solitary, swaggered, ruffled and bomb-shaped. A really good shape and a reliable plant! Lemon yellow full flower with golden stamens that peek out next to the bright pink pistil tips. Note that in young plants the flowers can be semi-small (Semi-Double ). Strong and sturdy stems are able to keep the flower upright. The lower petals are large and fairly broad. They are arranged in 1-2 rows horizontally or slightly bent down. All the other petals are narrower and they form a 'bomb' shape. The flower size is 15-17cm in diameter. Each of the flower stalks forms three or more flowers. Some lateral buds are produced. The seeds and pollen are fertile. Many seeds are formed. The bush is neat, there is no poking. The leaves appear burgundy in spring and then turn a dark green. They are double tricoloured, pointed and look great all season long. This variety is frost hardy (can withstand temperature drops as low as -40 °C) and drought tolerant. Adult height is 80-90cm with a width of 45-50cm. This peony is suitable for cut flowers and for planting in gardens and city parks.

Guide and tips for planting peony plants and bulbs
- Choose a sunny spot in your garden with well-draining soil.
- Dig a hole that is 2-3 times wider than the diameter of the peony bulb or root and deep enough to accommodate it comfortably.
- Mix some compost or other organic matter into the soil at the bottom of the hole.
- Place the peony bulb or root in the hole with the "eyes" (small buds) facing up and the crown (thickened stem base) no more than 1-2 inches below the soil surface.
- Fill the hole with soil and gently firm the soil around the bulb or root.
- Water the soil until it is evenly moist.
- Cover the area with a layer of mulch to help retain moisture and suppress weeds.
- Water the plant regularly, making sure not to let the soil dry out completely.
- As the plant grows, provide support to the stem to prevent it from bending or breaking.
- After the flowers have faded, cut the stem off at the base and continue to care for the plant by watering it regularly and providing it with full sun or partial shade.
