Peony Bartzella is a legendary Itoh peony that has already become a true star in the world of gardening. It combines the beauty of tree peonies with the resilience of herbaceous peonies, creating a flawless hybrid. Its large, semi-double and fully double flowers impress with a rich yellow color accented by delicate red streaks at the base of the petals. This striking combination makes Bartzella look exceptionally vibrant and festive.
The bush of this peony features strong stems that confidently hold large blooms up to 20 cm in diameter, making the variety perfect for both garden plantings and cutting. In addition, Bartzella is known for its abundant and long-lasting flowering — a single mature plant can produce dozens of luxurious blooms over several weeks.
A gentle, pleasant fragrance adds special charm to this peony, filling the garden with freshness. Even after flowering ends, the bush remains decorative thanks to its finely textured dark green foliage, which retains its beauty well into autumn.

Guide and tips for planting peony plants and bulbs
- Choose a sunny spot in your garden with well-draining soil.
- Dig a hole that is 2-3 times wider than the diameter of the peony bulb or root and deep enough to accommodate it comfortably.
- Mix some compost or other organic matter into the soil at the bottom of the hole.
- Place the peony bulb or root in the hole with the "eyes" (small buds) facing up and the crown (thickened stem base) no more than 1-2 inches below the soil surface.
- Fill the hole with soil and gently firm the soil around the bulb or root.
- Water the soil until it is evenly moist.
- Cover the area with a layer of mulch to help retain moisture and suppress weeds.
- Water the plant regularly, making sure not to let the soil dry out completely.
- As the plant grows, provide support to the stem to prevent it from bending or breaking.
- After the flowers have faded, cut the stem off at the base and continue to care for the plant by watering it regularly and providing it with full sun or partial shade.
