Paeonia Nymphe, a delicate and enchanting variety introduced in the early 20th century, lives up to its mythological namesake with an ethereal charm that evokes the grace of a woodland sprite. This peony captivates with its medium-sized, semi-double flowers, spanning 5–7 inches, which unfurl in a soft, blush-pink hue that gradually fades to a creamy ivory, reminiscent of moonlight filtering through delicate petals. The loosely arranged, slightly ruffled petals surround a vibrant center of golden-yellow stamens, creating a luminous, airy effect that feels both romantic and otherworldly. Each bloom releases a gentle, sweet fragrance with hints of rose and citrus, evoking the freshness of a spring morning in a secluded glade. The delicate interplay of soft colors and open, graceful form makes Paeonia Nymphe a standout choice for gardeners seeking to infuse their spaces with a sense of whimsy and refined beauty, whether in bouquets or as a highlight in a serene garden setting.
Paeonia Nymphe is as practical as it is enchanting, offering gardeners a blend of aesthetic allure and dependable performance. Its sturdy, upright stems, reaching 70–80 cm, provide reliable support for the delicate blooms, ensuring they remain elegant and intact through varying weather conditions without the need for staking. This variety thrives in full sun to partial shade and adapts beautifully to well-drained, fertile soils, demonstrating strong resistance to pests and diseases in USDA zones 3–8. The lush, dark green foliage forms a compact, bushy mound that remains attractive throughout the growing season, transitioning to subtle reddish hues in autumn for added seasonal interest. Perfect for mixed borders, romantic cottage gardens, or as a delicate accent in floral arrangements, Paeonia Nymphe brings a sense of airy sophistication and timeless serenity, creating an atmosphere of quiet enchantment wherever it blooms.

Guide and tips for planting peony plants and bulbs
- Choose a sunny spot in your garden with well-draining soil.
- Dig a hole that is 2-3 times wider than the diameter of the peony bulb or root and deep enough to accommodate it comfortably.
- Mix some compost or other organic matter into the soil at the bottom of the hole.
- Place the peony bulb or root in the hole with the "eyes" (small buds) facing up and the crown (thickened stem base) no more than 1-2 inches below the soil surface.
- Fill the hole with soil and gently firm the soil around the bulb or root.
- Water the soil until it is evenly moist.
- Cover the area with a layer of mulch to help retain moisture and suppress weeds.
- Water the plant regularly, making sure not to let the soil dry out completely.
- As the plant grows, provide support to the stem to prevent it from bending or breaking.
- After the flowers have faded, cut the stem off at the base and continue to care for the plant by watering it regularly and providing it with full sun or partial shade.
