Mai Fleuri is a herbaceous peony with large, densely double flowers of pale pink color, which can lighten to almost white over time. Its petals are delicately corrugated, giving the flowers volume and texture, creating the effect of an exquisite fabric. In the center of the flower are yellow stamens, which adds contrast to the color. The variety has a pleasant sweet aroma of medium intensity.

This variety is perfect for both garden compositions and for cutting — the flowers retain their freshness for a long time in a vase. Due to its stable, thick stems, the plant does not need a garter, and the dark green, shiny foliage retains its decorative effect until late autumn.

Mai Fleuri looks harmonious in both classic flower beds and romantic Provence-style gardens. Its tenderness adds lightness and freshness to any flower arrangement.

How to Plant?

Guide and tips for planting peony plants and bulbs

  • Choose a sunny spot in your garden with well-draining soil.
  • Dig a hole that is 2-3 times wider than the diameter of the peony bulb or root and deep enough to accommodate it comfortably.
  • Mix some compost or other organic matter into the soil at the bottom of the hole.
  • Place the peony bulb or root in the hole with the "eyes" (small buds) facing up and the crown (thickened stem base) no more than 1-2 inches below the soil surface.
  • Fill the hole with soil and gently firm the soil around the bulb or root.
  • Water the soil until it is evenly moist.
  • Cover the area with a layer of mulch to help retain moisture and suppress weeds.
  • Water the plant regularly, making sure not to let the soil dry out completely.
  • As the plant grows, provide support to the stem to prevent it from bending or breaking.
  • After the flowers have faded, cut the stem off at the base and continue to care for the plant by watering it regularly and providing it with full sun or partial shade.
