Peony Raggedy Ann is a wonderfully playful flower with a truly unique look. Its large, crisp white outer petals have beautifully ruffled, slightly fringed edges that give it a fun, textured feel. As the flower opens, it reveals a spectacular surprise—a densely packed center filled with curled white petals and bold, striking splashes of rich burgundy and dark plum. It is a stunning, high-contrast bloom that instantly grabs your attention.
This charming variety is a fantastic way to add a touch of personality to your flower beds or mixed garden borders. It grows into a strong, healthy bush with sturdy stems that easily hold up those big, frilly flowers, so you won't have to worry about them drooping after a spring shower. The vibrant green leaves provide a perfect background to make the white and dark red blooms really pop, keeping your garden looking fresh and lush all summer long.
Raggedy Ann is also a dream for bringing indoors. Just a few of these eye-catching, textured blossoms in a vase will instantly add a playful yet elegant feel to any room. It’s the perfect peony for anyone who loves a flower with a little bit of unexpected drama and a whole lot of fun, effortless charm.

Guide and tips for planting peony plants and bulbs
- Choose a sunny spot in your garden with well-draining soil.
- Dig a hole that is 2-3 times wider than the diameter of the peony bulb or root and deep enough to accommodate it comfortably.
- Mix some compost or other organic matter into the soil at the bottom of the hole.
- Place the peony bulb or root in the hole with the "eyes" (small buds) facing up and the crown (thickened stem base) no more than 1-2 inches below the soil surface.
- Fill the hole with soil and gently firm the soil around the bulb or root.
- Water the soil until it is evenly moist.
- Cover the area with a layer of mulch to help retain moisture and suppress weeds.
- Water the plant regularly, making sure not to let the soil dry out completely.
- As the plant grows, provide support to the stem to prevent it from bending or breaking.
- After the flowers have faded, cut the stem off at the base and continue to care for the plant by watering it regularly and providing it with full sun or partial shade.
